Smart Rules for
Using your Vibrator
Never insert any vibrator to the point that it cannot be
easily controlled and removed.
Always clean your vibrator after each use.
You could place a condom on your vibrator before use to
make clean-up easier.
Use only compatible water-based lubricants with condoms and
latex toys.
If pain or discomfort occurs while using your vibrator,
stop immediately.
Do not use your vibrator on broken or irritated skin.
Before Using your
New Vibrator
When you first get your new vibrator, carefully remove it
from the box. Review all information on the box and any
instructions for any safety tips or special instructions. Gently
wash your new vibrator with warm water and mild soap, being careful
not to get the battery compartment or controls wet. Dry your
vibrator with a clean towel.

To Lube or not to
Lube
If you’re not sure, lubes serve as a fill-in for the
natural lubricant produced by a woman’s vagina. There are several
different varieties of lubes geared for special purposes, including
vibrator use.
If you are
using an anal vibrator, then lube is an absolute necessity. Only
lube will provide a smooth, safe penetration for your vibrator,
while allowing for easy removal. It’s also a good idea to use lube
with any vibrator that provides clitoral stimulation. Several lubes
have unique properties, such as heating up when friction is applied
to them that can enhance stimulation. Some women can use their
vibrator safely and comfortably for vaginal penetration without
using lube. However, most women have a difficult time being aroused
by a simple piece of plastic and they rely on lube to help
get things started. Since this is your first time with a vibrator,
it’s better to play it safe and cautious by using lube your first
few times and then make your personal decision.

Taking your New
Vibrator for a Spin
Regardless of which vibrator tickles your fancy, sexual
therapists agree that there’s one basic rule for using a vibrator –
if it feels good, then keep doing it! This is partly because
vibrators, more than any other adult product, actively encourage you
to experiment with different positions and speeds to find the
perfect combination that hits your sexual triggers.
First, get in a comfortable position, such as on your back
or on your stomach. Turn the vibrator on low and start using to
gently touch your erogenous zones, such as your nipples, inner
thighs and around your vagina. Once you’re used to the feel of the
vibrator, apply a little lube to the vibrator, your vagina and
clitoris and begin to gently rub the vibrator up and down your
vagina. Begin with a light, almost teasing approach and gradually
build up pressure until you reach the point, at which you’re most
comfortable. Most importantly, relax and enjoy yourself!
The Clean-up
You should always clean your vibrator thoroughly after each
use. Most vibrators can be cleaned with a simple soap and water but
some models and material require special care.
